Covid-19 Pandemic
COVID-19 is a contagious disease caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, first identified in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The disease spread worldwide, resulting in a pandemic, with symptoms including fever, fatigue, cough, breathing difficulties, loss of smell, and loss of taste. The risk of developing severe symptoms is higher for older people, and some complications can result in death. COVID-19 transmission occurs through airborne particles, close proximity, and contact with contaminated surfaces, with people remaining contagious for up to 20 days. Testing methods include real-time RT-PCR, transcription-mediated amplification, and RT-LAMP from a nasopharyngeal swab. Several COVID-19 vaccines have been approved and distributed, with mass vaccination campaigns initiated in various countries, along with other preventive measures such as physical distancing, quarantining, and ventilation of indoor spaces.learn more on wikipedia
