Copa de la Reina

The Copa de la Reina is an annual cup competition for Spanish women's association football teams, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and its first edition took place in 1983, five years before the Spanish women's league was created. The tournament was initially a knockout competition featuring top eight clubs, but since 2018 it has featured all 16 teams of the first division and is played during the league season, with a record 52 clubs participating in the 2021-22 season.
