City Of Manchester Stadium
The City of Manchester Stadium, also known as Etihad Stadium, is a football stadium in Manchester, England, with a capacity of 53,600. Built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, it has hosted numerous events including football internationals, rugby matches, and music concerts. The stadium was converted from an athletics arena to a football stadium at a cost of £22 million to the city council and £20 million to Manchester City, who moved there from Maine Road in 2003. The stadium's design, led by Arup, features a unique cable-stayed roof structure and has received several awards for its innovative and inclusive design. In 2015, a third tier was added to the South Stand, and a major redevelopment program is currently underway, set to increase the stadium's capacity to approximately 61,000 by 2026.learn more on wikipedia
