Chess World Championship

The World Chess Championship is a biennial match to determine the world champion in chess, currently held by Gukesh Dommaraju since 2024 after defeating Ding Liren. The championship has a long history dating back to 1886, when Wilhelm Steinitz became the first world champion by defeating Johannes Zukertort.
