Bolan Pass
The Bolan Pass is a natural gateway through the Toba Kakar range in Balochistan, Pakistan, connecting Quetta with Sibi by road and railway. Strategically located, it has been used by traders, invaders, and nomadic tribes as a gateway to and from South Asia. The pass is approximately 89 km long, consisting of narrow gorges and stretches, and is an important pass on the Baluch frontier, connecting Jacobabad and Jhang with Multan. The local population consists of Brahvi tribes to the south, Pashtuns to the north, and Balochis to the west. The pass has been used throughout history for invasions of the Indian subcontinent, with the Afghan king Ahmad Shah Durrani using it in 1748 to invade India. The British Army also used the pass during the First Anglo-Afghan War in 1839.learn more on wikipedia
