Blessed Assurance

Fanny Crosby, a blind hymn writer, wrote the lyrics of the Christian hymn "Blessed Assurance" in 1873 to the music composed by Phoebe Knapp, also in 1873. The hymn was first published in the July 1873 issue of Palmer's Guide to Holiness and Revival Miscellany magazine, where it was copyrighted by Crosby the same year.
