BlackBerry
BlackBerry is a discontinued brand of smartphones and other related mobile services and devices that was originally developed and maintained by BlackBerry Limited from 1999 to 2016. At its peak in 2011, there were 85 million BlackBerry subscribers worldwide, but the brand lost its dominant position due to the success of Android and iOS platforms, with numbers falling to 23 million in 2016. In 2016, BlackBerry Limited announced it would cease designing its own devices and license its brand to partners, with the first licensees being BB Merah Putih, Optiemus Infracom, and BlackBerry Mobile. BlackBerry devices used a proprietary operating system, known as BlackBerry OS, until 2013, when BlackBerry 10 was introduced, and in 2015, the company began releasing Android-based smartphones.learn more on wikipedia
