Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport, formerly known as Elmdon Airport, is an international airport located 7 nautical miles east-southeast of Birmingham city centre in England. The airport was officially opened on July 8, 1939, and was requisitioned by the Air Ministry during World War II for flight training and wartime production purposes. After the war, the airport reopened to civilian operations on July 8, 1946, and currently holds a Public Use Aerodrome Licence allowing flights for public transport or flying instruction. The airport is served by the A45 main road and is connected to Birmingham International railway station by the Air-Rail Link, with passenger throughput exceeding 12.9 million in 2017, making it the seventh busiest airport in the UK.learn more on wikipedia
