Ben Gurion International Airport
Ben Gurion International Airport, also known as Natbag, is the main international airport of Israel, located on the northern outskirts of the city of Lod, 45 kilometers northwest of Jerusalem and 20 kilometers southeast of Tel Aviv. The airport serves as a hub for several airlines, including El Al, Israir Airlines, Arkia, and Sun d'Or, and is managed by the Israel Airports Authority. In 2023, it handled 21.1 million passengers, making it one of the busiest airports in the Middle East. The airport has a significant importance to Israel as it is one of the few convenient entry points into the country for most travelers. It was previously known as Lod Airport until 1973, when it was renamed in honor of David Ben-Gurion, the first prime minister of Israel.learn more on wikipedia
