Battle of the Network Stars
The Battle of the Network Stars is a series of competitions that aired between 1976 and 1988 on ABC, where stars from ABC, CBS, and NBC competed in various sporting events. The series was revived by NBC in 2003, but it was not successful. In 2005, Bravo premiered a version called Battle of the Network Reality Stars and ESPN premiered a sports-themed spinoff. In 2017, ABC revived the series as a summer series, with Mike Greenberg and Joe Tessitore hosting. The series typically features teams of celebrities competing in events such as swimming, kayaking, and volleyball, with the lowest scoring network eliminated each round until the final event, the Tug of War. In the 2017 version, teams are assigned based on the genre or role of the celebrities' TV credits, and include at least one veteran actor or actress from the original series.learn more on wikipedia
