Barcelona World's Fair
The 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition was Spain's first International World's Fair, held from April 8 to December 9, 1888, and attracting over 2 million visitors. It was hosted on the reconstructed site of the city's main public park, the Parc de la Ciutadella, with Vilaseca's Arc de Triomf forming the entrance. The fair featured exhibits from 27 countries, including China, Japan, and the United States, and included a series of concerts sponsored by piano manufacturer Erard, as well as a gold medal and a silver medal won by Luisa Lacal de Bracho and Josep Maria Tamburini respectively. The exposition had a lasting impact on Barcelona, transforming the Ciutadella Park and leaving behind several notable monuments, including the Modernista Arc de Triomf, the Columbus Monument, and the Castell dels tres dracs.learn more on wikipedia
