Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea is a shelf sea and marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean, enclosed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden, and the North and Central European Plain. It stretches from 53°N to 66°N latitude and from 10°E to 30°E longitude, and is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the Danish straits. The Baltic Sea is divided into several bays and gulfs, including the Gulf of Bothnia, the Gulf of Finland, the Gulf of Riga, and the Bay of Gdańsk. It is bordered by the "Baltic Proper", which is defined as the area north of latitude 60°N, and is connected to the White Sea via the White Sea–Baltic Canal and to the North Sea via the Kiel Canal.learn more on wikipedia
