Arctic
The Arctic is a polar region located at the northernmost part of Earth, encompassing parts of northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, the United States, Canada, Greenland, and Iceland, as well as the Arctic Ocean and adjacent seas. The region is characterized by seasonally varying snow and ice cover, predominantly treeless permafrost under the tundra, and Arctic seas with seasonal sea ice. The Arctic region is home to a unique ecosystem, with cultures and indigenous peoples adapted to its cold and extreme conditions, and supports a diverse range of life including zooplankton, phytoplankton, fish, marine mammals, birds, land animals, and plants. The climate of the Arctic is cold and dry, with low precipitation, high winds, and average winter temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F), and the region is affected by global warming and climate change.learn more on wikipedia
