Aramaic
Aramaic is a Northwest Semitic language that originated in ancient Syria and spread to various regions, including Mesopotamia, the southern Levant, and eastern Arabia. It has been written and spoken for over 3,000 years, serving as a language of public life, administration, and divine worship. Today, modern varieties of Aramaic include Neo-Aramaic languages spoken by Assyrians, Mandeans, and Mizrahi Jews, while classical varieties are used in several West Asian churches and in Judaism, Samaritanism, and Mandaeism. Aramaic belongs to the Semitic language family and is written in the Aramaic alphabet, which also influenced the creation of other Semitic languages' writing systems, such as the Hebrew and Arabic alphabets. The language is now considered endangered, with several varieties mainly spoken by older generations.learn more on wikipedia
