American Football
American football is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense attempts to advance the ball down the field by running with it or throwing it, while the defense tries to stop them and gain control of the ball. Points are scored by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone for a touchdown or kicking the ball through the goalposts for a field goal. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. The sport evolved from soccer and rugby, with the first game played in 1869 between Rutgers and Princeton, and rule changes established by Walter Camp, the "Father of American Football", in the 1880s. American football is the most popular sport in the United States, with professional and college football being the most popular forms. The National Football League (NFL) has the highest average attendance of any professional sports league in the world, with an annual revenue of around $18.6 billion in 2022.learn more on wikipedia
