Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp

The Maghazi refugee camp is a Palestinian refugee camp located in the Deir al-Balah Governorate in the central Gaza Strip, established in 1949. As of July 2023, the camp's population was 33,000, but it tripled to 100,000 during the 2023 Israel-Hamas war. The camp has a history of raids and warfare, including an IDF raid in 2003 that killed three Palestinians and wounded dozens, and multiple airstrikes in 2023 that killed over 120 people and destroyed the only bakery in the camp.
