Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant

The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is a large nuclear power plant under construction in Turkey, expected to generate around 10% of the country's electricity when completed. The plant is being built by a Russian company, Rosatom, and is expected to be the first build–own–operate nuclear power plant in the world. Construction started in April 2018, with the first unit expected to become operational in October 2024, and the other three units expected to be completed by 2026.
