A319
The Airbus A319 is a member of the Airbus A320 family, carrying 124 to 156 passengers and having a maximum range of 3,700 nmi. It is a shortened-fuselage variant of the A320, entering service in April 1996 with Swissair. The A319 shares a common type rating with all other Airbus A320 family variants, allowing existing pilots to fly the aircraft without further training. In 2010, Airbus announced the A320neo, a new generation of the A320 family, which includes the A319neo variant, offering new engines, airframe improvements, and winglets, promising fuel savings of up to 15%. As of October 2024, 1,506 A319 aircraft have been delivered, with American Airlines being the largest operator. The A319 was developed to meet a need for a shorter-fuselage aircraft to compete with the 737-300/-700, and its design is largely unchanged from the A320, with the removal of four fuselage frames to achieve the desired length. The aircraft has undergone various upgrades and improvements, including the installation of "Sharklets", which increase its range.learn more on wikipedia
