Volcanic eruption in Indonesia results in multiple fatalities, thousands displaced

The Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki volcano in eastern Indonesia erupted several times, causing significant damage and loss of life. According to multiple reports, at least 10 people died, including a child, and several houses, including a convent of Catholic nuns, were burned. The eruptions began just before midnight on Sunday and propelled lava and rocks across a four-mile radius around the summit, leaving villages in the area deep in volcanic ash.
