Vladimir Putin meets Tucker Carlson for rare interview with western media

Vladimir Putin granted his first interview to a Western media outlet since the invasion of Ukraine two years ago, which was conducted by Tucker Carlson. Putin is believed to urge the US public to oppose military aid to Ukraine during the interview. Numerous requests for interviews from Western media outlets have been rejected by the Kremlin previously. Carlson explained that he wanted to provide Americans with information about a war they are implicated in. The interview took place despite Putin's infrequent granting of interviews, even to state-run media. Republican politicians in the US have blocked attempts to send billions of dollars worth of equipment and ammunition to Ukraine.
