Venice limits tour groups to 25 and bans megaphones in effort to combat overtourism
The city of Venice has implemented new measures to regulate tourist groups and noise levels. As of Thursday, tourist parties will be limited to 25 people, and the use of loudspeakers by tourist guides will be banned. Fines ranging from 25-500 euros (27-541 dollars) will be imposed on those who do not comply. The rules apply to the city centre and the islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello.
