UnitedHealthcare CEO Killing Suspect Charged with First-Degree Murder as Act of Terrorism

Luigi Mangione has been charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Brian Thompson, the CEO of a health insurance company. The Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, stated that the killing was intended to evoke terror and was a well-planned and targeted attack. A grand jury indicted Mangione on 11 counts, including first-degree murder and murder, and he is also charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Additionally, Mangione has been charged with terrorism and is scheduled to appear in court on December 19. The indictment supersedes the initial complaint.
