Ukraine parliament approves International Criminal Court membership bid
Ukraine's parliament has voted to join the International Criminal Court (ICC) in an effort to bring Russia to justice for alleged war crimes committed during its invasion. Ukraine initially signed the Rome Statute, which founded the ICC, in 2000, but did not ratify it. The parliament's decision to join the ICC was approved by a majority of lawmakers, with 281 votes in favor and 22 abstentions.
