Ukraine intensifies long-range strikes, sinking a Russian submarine and hitting an airfield
Ukrainian military forces have been conducting a series of attacks on Russian targets, including an airfield in Morozovsk where guided aerial bombs were stored. Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy confirmed the attack on Telegram. Additionally, Ukrainian drones have hit an apartment building, resulting in one fatality. The increased frequency of attacks since July is reportedly a strategic move by Ukraine to pressure its Western allies, particularly the US, into providing more support. However, the US and other Western allies have so far been hesitant to escalate the situation due to concerns about a potential response from Moscow. Ukrainian forces have also targeted a Russian Kilo-class submarine and an anti-aircraft missile complex in the Crimean peninsula, as well as an air defense system protecting the Kerch Strait Bridge.
As a result of the attack, the submarine sank. Great work, warriors.
A Russian submarine went to the bottom of the Black Sea.
We are aware of recent reports online and in the media. We take these reports extremely seriously. The way we work is to respond via relevant authorities directly and confidentially.
Russian combat aviation must be destroyed wherever it is, by all effective means. It is also quite fair to strike at Russian airfields. And we need this joint solution with our partners - a security solution.
Hitting this submarine is a big, big deal.
