Ukraine claims destruction of large Russian landing ship in Black Sea

There have been multiple reports of naval drone attacks on a Russian landing ship, identified as the Caesar Kunikov, off the coast of Crimea. Ukrainian military intelligence and lawmakers claim that several drones hit the port side of the ship, causing damage and possibly sinking it. The incidents were first reported by Ukrainska Pravda, with video footage and images of smoke rising from a ship being shared on social media. The Caesar Kunikov is a 112m Ropucha-class landing ship from Russia's Black Sea Fleet and can carry 87 crew members. It was previously involved in military operations in Georgia in 2008. Ukrainian forces have claimed to have disabled about 33% of Russian warships using naval drones, according to a recent report by Ukrainian military intelligence. However, there are conflicting reports regarding the fate of the Caesar Kunikov, with some sources reporting that it sank near Alupka, while others only claim that it was damaged. The situation on the front line between Ukrainian and Russian forces remains extremely difficult, with little progress made on the 1,000-kilometer front line over the past year.
