Uganda confirms one person dead in Ebola outbreak after new virus is detected

An outbreak of the Ebola virus has been confirmed in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. The first reported fatality is a 32-year-old male nurse who was an employee of Mulago Hospital and sought treatment at various facilities before his death. At least 44 contacts of the victim have been identified, including 30 health workers, who are being traced.
