US-Built Gaza Pier Repaired, Aid Mission Set to Resume

The United States military's Gaza aid pier suffered significant damage due to rough seas and storms, with estimates suggesting at least $22 million in damages. The pier, designed to facilitate the delivery of food and other essential supplies into Gaza by boat, broke apart in late January. Despite this setback, US forces successfully rebuilt a section of the pier that connects to the beach in Gaza, nearly two weeks after the damage occurred.
