US spacecraft burns up over South Pacific after failed moon mission
A crippled American spacecraft will burn up in the atmosphere over a remote region of the South Pacific on Thursday. Astrobotic's Peregrine lander was launched on January 8 as part of an experimental new partnership between NASA and private industry. It exploded shortly after separation from its rocket and has been leaking fuel ever since.
