US imposes sanctions on Sudan's army chief over tactics in deadly civil war

This move comes after the Biden administration imposed sanctions on Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, the leader of the RSF. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed regret over the failure to end the brutal war, which has been ongoing since April 2023. The Sudanese army's tactics have included bombing of civilian infrastructure, according to the treasury department.
