US authorities release videos showing fatal beating of handcuffed New York prisoner by correctional officers

The fatal beating of Robert Brooks, a 43-year-old inmate, occurred in a New York prison on December 9. According to multiple sources, including body-worn camera footage and an investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James, Brooks was subjected to extreme physical abuse while handcuffed. The corrections officers involved used excessive force, including punching Brooks in the face and groin, striking him in the chest with a shoe, and lifting him by the neck, ultimately causing his death.
