US and British forces launch airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen

Recent US and British military actions in Yemen have targeted Houthi rebel groups, striking more than a dozen locations, including the capital city of Sanaa and the province of Dhamar. The attacks, which used military aircraft and warships, were aimed at securing international waterways and followed a series of Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea. According to officials, the strikes hit five locations where hostages were present, although the exact number of casualties is unclear. The Houthi group claims the attacks are in retaliation for Israel's military campaign in Gaza, and have also been striking ships in the Red Sea, with over 100 reported incidents since November.
