US States Sue TikTok Over Alleged Harm to Younger Users and Failure to Protect Them

Multiple lawsuits have been filed against TikTok in the US, accusing the platform of harming and failing to protect young users. The complaints, filed in 13 states including New York, California, and Washington D.C., claim that TikTok's design is intentionally addictive, using software to keep children engaged for as long as possible and exploiting their vulnerabilities. The lawsuits also accuse the company of prioritizing profits over user well-being. In response, TikTok has denied the allegations, stating that many of the claims are inaccurate and misleading.
