Russia-Ukraine War
US Partially Lifts Ban on Ukraine Using US Arms in Strikes on Russian Territory
According to German government spokespersons, Ukraine is authorized to use weapons supplied by Germany, including those delivered for the purpose of defending Kharkiv, a city that has been targeted by Russian ballistic missiles. Ukrainian officials have expressed frustration over restrictions on the use of Western weapons and have argued that they have the right under international law to defend themselves against attacks coming from inside Russia.
According to recent reports, US President Joe Biden has given Ukraine permission to use American-provided long-range missiles to strike at targets inside Russia, but only in defense of Kharkiv, a city located near the Russian border. This decision comes as Ukraine's forces have been under intense attack from Russian forces in the north-east region.
