US Imposes Sanctions on Chinese Firms for Aiding Russia in Ukraine Conflict

The United States has imposed sanctions on two China-based companies and a Russian company, as well as their owner, in connection with their alleged involvement in supplying drones to Russia. The sanctions target Redlepus Vector Industry Shenzhen Co Ltd and a Chinese company that manufactures the engine powering Russia's Garpiya series long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as a Russian company and its owner, Artem Yamshchikov. The US Treasury Department accuses the Chinese firms of directly supporting Russia's war effort and providing arms supplies to Moscow, which has been a long-standing accusation by the US against China. The sanctions also include the seizure of property and interests within US control belonging to the Russian company and its owner. This move comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined his "victory plan" against Russia, indicating a significant escalation in the conflict.
