US Government Limits Minors' Access to Gender Transition Medical Care
ai generated text
On January 12, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order restricting access to gender transition procedures for individuals under the age of 19. The order bans the use of federal funds for these procedures and prohibits the promotion and support of gender-affirming care for minors.
Moreover, these vulnerable youths' medical bills may rise throughout their lifetimes, as they are often trapped with lifelong medical complications, a losing war with their own bodies, and, tragically, sterilisation.
Across the country today, medical professionals are maiming and sterilising a growing number of impressionable children.
Our Nation will no longer fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support so-called 'gender affirming care,' which has already ruined far too many precious lives.
Countless children soon regret that they have been mutilated and begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children of their own or nurture their children through breastfeeding.
Health care for transgender people is supported by every major medical association. The Trump administration's unhinged obsession with attacking transgender people and their health care does not reflect medical fact and does not represent the reality of trans people, youth, and their freedom to be themselves, and make their own health care decisions, without being discriminated against and lied about.
It's very clear that this order, in combination with the other orders that we've seen over the past week, are meant to not protect anyone in this country, but rather to single-mindedly drive out transgender people of all ages from all walks of civic life.
The Trump administration's obsession comes at a high cost for every American who wants the government to address actual issues like gun violence, abortion access, and rising costs.
It is deeply unfair to play politics with people's lives and strip transgender young people, their families, and their providers of the freedom to make necessary health care decisions.
