US Forces to Leave Niger by Mid-September

The United States has agreed to withdraw its troops from Niger, a West African nation, at the request of the country's military rulers. A disengagement agreement was reached between the two sides, and US forces deployed as part of an anti-jihadist mission have begun leaving the country. The withdrawal is expected to be completed by mid-September.
