US Defense Chief Reaffirms Commitment to Aid Ukraine Despite Congressional Delays

Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III has reiterated the US commitment to supporting Ukraine with "creative, adaptable and sustainable ways" to continue providing military aid as the conflict enters a critical stage. European allies are also praised for their efforts to bolster Kyiv's military. Austin stated that the US will not let Ukraine fail and announced a new package of military aid worth $300 million, which was found by saving on contracts. This is the first tranche of weapons sent since December, with battlefield conditions in Ukraine reportedly getting increasingly dire and Ukrainian forces facing shortages of munitions.
