US Charges Former Indian Intelligence Officer in Alleged Plot to Kill Sikh Separatist in New York

Vikash Yadav, a 39-year-old individual, has been ordered to be indicted in connection with a murder-for-hire plot. The plot involved an attempt to assassinate a Sikh separatist leader in New York City last year. According to US officials, Yadav allegedly directed the plot remotely, recruiting a hitman and arranging a payment of $15,000 for the job. Yadav faces murder-for-hire charges and the indictment against him was unsealed on Thursday. The US Justice Department alleges that Yadav orchestrated the assassination plot, and FBI Director Christopher Wray stated that the FBI will not tolerate acts of violence.
