US Asks French Companies to Comply with Trump's Diversity Policy

The US administration has been urging French companies to comply with the rollback of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives by the Trump administration, sparking a controversy. French media and a French minister have accused US diplomats of meddling with companies that work with the US government, and France's trade ministry has condemned the "unacceptable" US interference. The letters, signed by a US State Department officer at the US Embassy in Paris, were sent to French companies currently working with the US or looking to do so, and included a questionnaire asking them to certify that they did not practice DEI programs.
