UN appeals for $4.1 billion to help war-torn Sudan

Fighting between rival military factions has created the world's largest internal displacement crisis. The UN has appealed for $4.1 billion (£3.25 billion) to meet humanitarian needs as the World Food Program warns that people are starving in areas cut off by the fighting. Half of the country's 50 million people need food aid and nearly 11 million have been uprooted from their homes.
