UN Pauses Food Deliveries to Northern Gaza Due to Chaos and Violence

The United Nations' World Food Programme (WFP) has suspended aid deliveries to northern Gaza due to Israeli gunfire and the collapse of civil order, increasing fears of starvation. The WFP stated that this decision was not made lightly as there are already warnings of a looming famine in the north since December. The Israeli military had ordered the evacuation of 1.1 million Palestinian civilians from areas north of Wadi Gaza. Israel's military claims to be operating in the area of Zaytun, south of Gaza City, where they allegedly recovered weapons including an RPG and AK-47 rifle. The IDF also expanded activities in western Khan Younis. The decline in aid deliveries and distribution has been a significant issue in recent weeks.
