UK Sentences Record Jail Terms to Climate Activists Over Non-Violent Protests

A group of six Just Stop Oil (JSO) climate activists have been given significant jail sentences for their involvement in a non-violent protest on the M25 motorway. The protesters, including Roger Hallam, co-founder of JSO and Extinction Rebellion, were sentenced to between four and five years in prison. Judge Christopher Hehir handed down the sentences, which are thought to be the longest ever given for peaceful protest.
