Trump administration reverses federal aid freeze after public backlash and criticism
ai generated text
The Trump administration's recent executive order on federal grant funding sparked widespread confusion and legal challenges across the country. The order, which was initially intended to freeze trillions of dollars in government support for various programs, was later rescinded by the White House Office of Management and Budget. Administration officials claimed that the decision to halt loans and grants was necessary to ensure compliance with Trump's recent executive orders.
We may not have majorities in the House and the Senate, but we DO have the power to loudly educate and mobilize against the mass looting the Trump admin is attempting against our veterans, healthcare, education, and more.
Americans fought back and Donald Trump backed off.
Though the Trump administration failed in this tactic, it's no secret that they will try to find another, and when they do, it will again be Senate Democrats there to call it out, fight back, and defend American families.
This is an important victory for the American people whose voices were heard after massive pressure from every corner of this country – real people made a difference by speaking out.
Still, the Trump administration – through a combination of sheer incompetence, cruel intentions, and a willful disregard of the law – caused real harm and chaos for millions over the span of the last 48 hours which is still ongoing.
The president does not get to decide which laws to enforce and for whom.
If they don't agree by February 6 to show up back to work in their office, they will be terminated, and we will therefore be downscaling our government.
This action should effectively end the court case and allow the government to focus on enforcing the President's orders on controlling federal spending.
This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo.
Why? To end any confusion created by the court's injunction. The President's EO's on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.
The Executive Orders issued by the President on funding reviews remain in full force and effect and will be rigorously implemented by all agencies and departments.
Financial assistance should be dedicated to advancing Administration priorities, focusing taxpayer dollars to advance a stronger and safer America, eliminating the financial burden of inflation for citizens, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, ending 'wokeness' and the weaponization of government, promoting efficiency in government, and Making America Healthy Again.
This is a gift to terrorists and our adversaries across the world. Trump needs to stop this madness and resume funding now.
Everybody wants to make sure every federal dollar is spent wisely. But we need to do it in a way that protects veterans, ageing adults, and more than one in four Americans with a disability.
