Togo Ruling Party Wins Big Parliamentary Majority

The Union for the Republic party, led by President Faure Gnassingbe, has emerged victorious in Togo's recent legislative elections. According to reports from the electoral commission, the party secured 108 out of 113 seats in the new assembly, with a participation rate of 61%. The election results pave the way for Gnassingbe to take on a new role as president of the council of ministers, as outlined in the new constitution approved by lawmakers in April.
