Thousands evacuate Santorini amid multiple earthquakes

A series of significant earthquakes has been occurring on the Greek island of Santorini, prompting the evacuation of over 6,000 residents. The earthquakes have been frequent, with more than 550 recorded in the past three days, and several with a magnitude of 4.8 or higher. The strongest quake recorded to date had a magnitude of 4.9 and hit early Tuesday morning. The island is a popular tourist destination known for its cliffside views and dormant volcano.
