Thirteen feared dead off Falklands after fishing boat sinks

The FV Argos Georgia, a Saint Helena-flagged fishing vessel, began taking on water and sank while 200 nautical miles east of the Falkland Islands capital Stanley. The crew fled the ship when it started sinking, leaving 27 people stranded in life rafts. Due to bad weather, attempts to rescue the crew failed initially. However, 14 people were eventually rescued by two fishing boats, with 10 of them identified as Spaniards from Pontevedra province in southeastern Galicia. The condition of the rescued crew members is unknown as relatives are still being informed.
