Ten Years Since Russia's Annexation of Crimea

The annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014 is considered the start of the Ukraine conflict. Crimeans have historical connections to both countries. During a speech, Vladimir Putin declared, "Russia and Crimea are one motherland." At the same event, Russia's national anthem was sung onstage by Putin and other candidates.
