Swift's endorsement was made shortly after the presidential debate between Harris and Donald Trump, and her post received over 2.3 million likes within a half hour. Swift also used the opportunity to clarify her stance in light of AI-generated images that falsely depicted her supporting Trump. In her post, Swift signed as "Childless Cat Lady," a reference to rhetoric used by Trump's running mate JD Vance. This is not Swift's first time endorsing a Democratic candidate, as she also backed Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
