Taliban refugee minister killed in Kabul suicide bombing

Khalil Haqqani, a senior Taliban minister and the uncle of acting interior minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, was killed in a suicide bombing that struck inside the ministry. The attack was carried out without any immediate claim of responsibility. However, the Taliban blamed the Islamic State (IS) militant group for the attack, calling it a "cowardly attack" and a "faction that deceitfully professes Islam."
