Swiss-hosted Ukraine peace summit concludes without consensus on declaration

A two-day summit on peace in Ukraine was held in Switzerland, attended by over 90 countries and institutions. The event aimed to drum up support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's 10-point peace plan, which he hopes to submit to Russia once agreed upon. However, not all participants signed the final declaration, with key regional powers such as Brazil, India, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia failing to sign a joint communique. Russia was not invited to the summit and ridiculed it from afar, while China's decision to stay away ensured that Ukraine's goal of persuading major countries to join in isolating Russia would not be achieved.
